Description
How Can We Communicate So That We Are All Understanding the Same Thing?
Good communication is essential to a well-run child care center. Parents, staff members and center leaders must share information, learn from one another, and successfully help children to grow and flourish because of their coordinated efforts. However, communication is difficult and can often be misunderstood. This training will help you to examine how we all communicate, how others perceive our communication, how we can improve our communication skills, and how we can solve problems quickly when communication problems arise.
CDA Competency: Goal IV. To establish positive and productive relationships with families
Learning Objectives: The learner will be able to
- Identify how people communicate
- Identify how YOU & YOUR people (staff & parents) communicate
- Define how to make sure the staff member or parent can understand the information
- Determine an appropriate action to quickly resolve conflict when issues arise
